Mud pump refers to a mechanical device that delivers flushing fluid such as mud or water to the borehole during the drilling process. Mud pump is an important component of drilling equipment.
The mud pump cylinder liner, cylinder head sleeve, cylinder head, pull rod, piston, piston pressure plate, cup, piston seat, piston rod, plunger rod, inlet and outlet valve, valve seat, crosshead, crosshead sliding sleeve, crosshead pin shaft, crankshaft, connecting rod, connecting rod upper and lower bearing, connecting rod copper sleeve, connecting rod screw and nut, crown nut, skeleton oil seal, O-ring sealing ring, bearing, and matching gear and shaft are prone to quality problems. The two main parameters of mud pump performance are displacement and pressure.
In commonly used positive circulation drilling, the surface flushing medium - water, mud, or polymer flushing fluid - is sent directly to the bottom of the drill bit through high-pressure hoses, faucets, and the center hole of the drill string under a certain pressure, in order to cool the drill bit, remove the cut rock cuttings, and transport them to the surface.
The commonly used mud pump is a piston or plunger type, which is driven by a power machine to rotate the
crankshaft of the pump. The crankshaft then drives the piston or plunger through the crosshead to perform reciprocating motion in the pump cylinder. Under the alternating action of the suction and discharge valves, the purpose of compressing and circulating flushing fluid is achieved.
